KNUST Obuasi campus to elect representatives at department and college levels

The KNUST Obuasi campus electoral commissioner has announced plans to elect college and departmental representatives.

The commissioner in a communique dated November 15, 2020 has informed Obuasi residents of far advanced plans to elect representatives to serve as a bridge between their campus and the main campus.

According to Master Harruna Abdul Shakur, the present development is to ensure more inclusive student governance at both ends.

“The representatives are to serve as a bridge between the campus and the main campus to so as to not leave us in the dark about every activity and development.’’

He also reckons that the announcement is to lead the student body through a free and fair election in choosing competent and promising leaders for the various colleges and departments.

This comes after a fruitful deliberation with SRC President, Master Joshua Ntim – Gyimah.

“The commission has had discussion with the SRC which has been fruitful. The SRC led by master Joshua Ntim-Gyimah has been of great support to the commission in delivering its core duties.”

The commission will however make available electoral related information to the student populace in due time, the statement reads.
