Read below the official statement of Master Fredrick Oppong Boakye;
Colleague students, eight months ago, providence placed me at the leadership of our school as Hall President for Queen Elizabeth II Hall. My immediate task and priority was and still remains to give the residents and affiliates of the hall, purposeful leadership and to focus on the priorities and demands of members. In these few months as leader of the hall, I have concentrated on managing the affairs of the hall, and resisted all efforts to respond to the drums of self-aggrandizement which have been sounding very loud across the land.
Last semester, i had a good number of people requesting a comment about my political future, but refused to do so to avoid distracting my office from its responsibilities.
Today, Saturday, 11th January 2020, I confirm that after wide and thorough consultations spanning the six traditional halls, the six colleges, faculties and departments, hostels on and off campus, denominational groups, students groups and associations and the oppositions, I FREDERICK OPPONG BOAKYE by the grace of God hereby offer myself and my services to the good people of KNUST as a candidate for the office of SRC President in the forthcoming 2020 SRC elections.
Come along, let’s build a society that is eager, very eager to pull her weight in the Upward movement to give her best to her people.
My name is FRED
I love you
