The Rise of Coronavirus in Ghana has been very tormenting to the livelihood of the Citizens of Ghana as well as the world as a whole.

Considering the fact as a Ghanaian base activist, the president of the republic of Ghana per his inputs and development in the management of the Pandemic here in Ghana is very recommendable and I must say he is doing very well.

Earlier inputs this year 2021 has been very encouraging and really supportive in the management of the pandemic yet I think there is more to be done I think and below is my input as an activist and as a representative and president of Movement of Vision to be Executed – MOVE.

In 2020, the president emphasized on the essence of social distancing and the wearing of mask though we were experiencing lock down and it is same this year as well. There were measures put in place in terms of transportation means being it commercial, private and even bikes. Such initiative highly contributed to the reduction of the number of active cases as well as cases recorded in a day. Considering such, it has become very surprising to notice citizens being at a high risk of not considering how to effect the practice of social distancing in transport means. Looking at the massive rise of active cases per day. About 60 – 70 % of passengers do not put on masks including our commercial drivers and their conductors especially. Activities that goes on in public transport are really appalling, some cough, scream and talk and who are you to actually put such persons on their toes? Funny enough, there are still strong doubts of the existence of this virus. I will like to use this opportunity to plead authorities to kindly consider the revisit and implementation of measures which were earlier put in place in the control of the pandemic in commercial transports / transportation as a whole.

Adding up, individuals should assist in the fight against the pandemic by abiding by the authorities measures that have been put in place to help in the reduction of the spread of the virus. Businesses should support the work from home policy and the shift system of working yet meeting expectations.

Some media organizations are really contributing to why the wear your mask policy is not well respected. Let me use this opportunity to congratulate the staffs or employees and management of the Multimedia group. They are always in their masks as far as I am concern during working hours and even on set. Some media personals always with their unnecessary excuses of I have a sanitizer here spraying around the studio is really appalling and I don’t know why the government has kept mute on them. High majority of children watch Television and they see these people without mask and they learn from them. Simply wear your mask. If you can’t wear your mask then don’t come on a national television!

Concluding, the implementation of social distancing seems not to be real when we still have   commercial cars taking the same number of passengers and at times even go on to practise over loading. Adopting earlier measures in 2020 which lead to the reduction of the spread of the virus I think.
