The Christ the King Methodist Church, Anaji-Estate has launched its yearly Youth Explosion Celebrations. This year’s dubbed ‘Youth Explosion 2020’ is under the theme “Revealing Christ”; inspired by the scripture II Corinthians 3:18.
The week-long activities will see a series of programs aimed at engaging the youths on topics and issues that aims at bringing the message salvation to many, especially youths in diverse ways and tackling issues around them.Unlike the previous years, this year’s will see most of the activities going virtual to help in sticking to COVID-19 protocols.
This year’s activities include Love Clinic which will focus on relationship, love and other intimate issues the youths encounter and face. There will also be evangelism, Pray Ghana and Explo Night; one that has been a major event every year.
Explaining the vision of this year’s celebrations at the virtual launch, Wednesday, Bro. Raymond Sablah, a member of the organizing team revealed that the aim of the celebrations is to provide the grounds for the youths to use all that they have to serve God.
“Youth Explosion started as a vision of our reverend minister, Rev. Eric Donkor. He wanted to just bring the youths together and help them to serve the Lord using their talents and their gifts and whatever that they have at the moment” he stated.
Delving some more into this year’s theme, bro. Sablah, exposing the scripture in II Corinthians 3:18 said it is important that we take off everything that covers us as a veil and prevent us from living the free life Christ gives us.
He also said that to do this, there was the need to have a constant daily relationship with the lord which can be maintained by making sure we are always studying the word and living as we learn.
“So we must remember that when we take our veil off; with unveiled faces, we are to contemplate the glory of the Lord. We must also take our veils off and keep them off and steadfastly look in the face of our lord Jesus Christ. How do we do that? A daily continuous fellowship with the Lord is what brings us to that place where we are moved. So God invites us to that place. You are already invited. You know, you have a relationship with the Lord but the closer you get to the mirror, the clearer the image” he said.As part of the program, a logo for the celebrations was unveiled.
Explaining the parts of the logo, a lead organizing team member, Miss Augustina Mensah revealed that the logo had parts separated by their colours, green and blue.
The green she said stands for the life of the Youth whiles the blue stands for the presence of God.
Throwing more light on the logo, she explained that the circle that forms a part of the logo signifies all youths coming together in unity under the umbrella of Christ whiles the part that has the human figure in a ‘Y’ form stands for how one explodes in the glory of the Lord upon surrendering our lives to Him.
