WAN – Hive Ghana is an innovation space for sustainable mentorship and education of young women and girls to build careers in technology, leadership, entrepreneurship and Agriculture.
With our aim to drive change among young women in technology, WAN Hive Ghana has commenced its six week Mobile App Development training for Females between the ages of 18 to 35 years in the Bono Region. These are Senior High School graduates, University Graduates and National Service personnel. The world is moving very fast towards digitalization and mobile app development has proven to be sustainable source of livelihood for those in the sector. The training has commenced on November 15, 2021 at WAN-Hive’s Innovation space in Sunyani.
The program include Mobile App Development training which will last for 6 weeks. After the training, trainees with promising startups will be identified and taken through an incubation process to transform their ideas into sustainable businesses and the remaining will be engaged in a paid internship program to gain practical experience in entrepreneurship. The program will end with an employability initiative which will connect trainees to sustainable jobs.
The base program is in partnership with Ghana Tech Lab with support from the MasterCard Foundation, Young Africa Works, Ministry of Communication and Digitization, and the World Bank under the Pathway to Sustainable Employment program.
