UENR: Civil Engineering Students’ Association Debate Ends, Second Years Win Contest


Second year students of the Civil Engineering Students’ Association (CESA) of the University of Energy and Natural Resources have been crowned champions in this year’s CESA Debate.

In the first round, the winners beat third years who spoke for the motion that “Social Media Brings More Harm than Good” with 43 points as against 36.1 points.

The final contest which was between level 100s and 200s was a heated one. At the end, the second years were adjudged winners with an approximately 3 points difference.

In his closing remarks, Ing. Dr. Prince Antwi-Adjei who was the lead adjudicator and chairman of the competition congratulated the winners whiles urging the whole house not to limit themselves to civil engineering but read broadly to acquire knowledge in basic concepts.

All participants were awarded certificates of participation whiles the winning team together with first and second runners up were given a cash prize with an undisclosed amount.
