Inaugurating the committee the Chairman of the UDS Governing Council, Mr. Nutifafa Kuenyehia Esq, stated that the UDS Statutes (Statute 6.1) established the position of a Chancellor of the University, to be appointed by Council. However, in its 25years of existence, the University’s administrative machinery had functioned without a Chancellor. “The administrative structures and offices that are prerequisites for the establishment and growth of an academic institution such as ours have been put in place over the years. Yet, we are still left with one important office, to be put in place. And that office is the office of the Chancellor of the University,” Mr. Nutifafa Kuenyehia remarked.

He expressed the hope that the processes leading to the appointment of a Chancellor for the University would be completed before the climax of the 25thAnniversary celebrations.
