Opoku Ware School Wins Innovation Award at Robofest 2018, Michigan, USA
The Opoku Ware School came 14th Position after the end of the World Robotics Competition dubbed Robofest 2018 at Michigan, United States of America.
Sending out a bunch of teenage high school students to the United States to defend our honour and cement Ghana’s place in the study of science, in the area of robotics.
But this 5 member team of young boys from the Opoku Ware Senior High School rose up to the challenge. With help of their
coach, they showed up, they were counted and the boys from a developing country beat others from well-resourced countries to win the Global Innovative Award at the 2018 World Robotics Championship.
They faced off the challenge from schools in the United States, China, Europe, India and other countries that are well ahead of Ghana in the technological curve.
The team included Peter Ampraku, Nathaniel Okai, Emmanuel Kofi Asare Yeboah, Papa Yaw Boakye Acheampong and Godfred.
