Teni is a multi talented, and free-spirited award winning Nigerian singer, songwriter, and entertainer. Teni swiftly rose to fame and stardom in the Nigerian music industry because people could relate to her lyrics.

Teni’s birth name is Teniola Apata, and she hails from Ekiti State. She was born in Lagos to Mr. and Mrs. Apata, as the 9th of 10 children. Her father was a retired Brigadier General before he was assassinated in 1995 when Teni was just 2years old.

Teni use to be the one and only African female artist who doesn’t expose her body for fame. According the artist, she said “my music will sell me more than my body because of the sensitivity that comes with it”.

In an interview with team Westwood, teni was asked why she doesn’t expose her body for fame as most of the female artist were doing nowadays and it sells them and their music as well. As she answered “music cannot be sell through the exposure of body, it can only be sell with the content and sense behind it and as well as the talent given and snowflake lyrics.

Nowadays, there are so many female artist in Africa who sell their bodies for popularity more than their actual work which is the music.
