The University body across Ghana has over past two weeks seen all academic activities grind to a halt. UTAG (University Teachers’ Association of Ghana) declared a nationwide strike in lieu of demands for better conditions of service. This has left most students of the 13 public universities engaged in the strike in an indecisive state as to whether to leave for home or stay on campus.
After an Emergency Council Meeting today, August 23, 2021, KNUST Management has given a grace period of one week for revision which is slated for August 25, 2021 to August 31, 2021. The End of Semester Examination has also been scheduled for September 1, 2021 to September 17, 2021. This comes after a two-week suspension of teaching services by UTAG. Negotiations are still being made pending a total call-off of the strike by the Association.
