Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Students Representative Council (SRC) has won the hearts of many following the decision of the school to complete the semester online.
This comes at the back when the President in his 10th address to the nation on Sunday 31st May 2020 directed Universities to allow final years to return to school to complete the semester.
The SRC after an Emergency Academic Board meeting on Thursday, June 4, 2020, reported that final years will remain at home to complete the semester online following the early decision by the University on Thursday, May 4, 2020, to use an averaged 3-5 assignments to make up for the end of semester examinations.
The University in release cited on Friday, June 5 2020 maintains that such arrangement still holds – final years will complete their final lap of from home with few exceptions.
The University attributes this decision reached to the Adu Baah Charles (ABC) led SRC administration for raising substantial concerns of COVID-19 spread among other reasons hence the reason to complete from home.
They further stated that 80% of assignments and project work which would be used as assessment for the End of Semester Examinations have already been completed and submitted for marking.
Following this, all online assignments and assessments are to be completed by Tuesday 30th of June, 2020.
However, students having difficulty in assessing online facilities have the option to re-locate to campus from the 15th to the 30th of June, 2020.
