KNUST first year student drowns at Ekuase- Sekondi beach outstretch

A first year Bsc. Real estate student is reported to have been missing following reports received from a brother who gave his name to hypercitigh.com Sekondi- Takoradi correspondent as Emmanuel.
According to the brother, James Cudjoe whose body cannot be found since afternoon, had gone with two other friends to swim at Ekuase – Sekondi beach outstretch.
He recounted that James had finished performing a church activity before he decided to go to the beach to swim. One of the friends refused to join up for the swim because he was inexperienced, it was until the other friend realized James was swimming wide and had lost guard of himself, attempted a rescue.
The rescue proved futile according to James brother because he was heavier of which the friend nearly risked his life in the process but was fortunate he was drifted aback by a sudden wave.
According to Emmanuel the body has not been found after James was swept away by the sea.
The incident is reported to have happened between 11:45am to 1pm on Wednesday.
KNUST is said to reopen school in September.
