IN FOCUS: The Race to the Robofest World Championship Michigan, USA 2018.
Another journey to the Michigan Robotics Competition to be held at the united states has begun again. The precious winners or champions of this great and glorious competition is Prempeh College (AMANFO).
The 2016 edition of the Robofest World Championship in Michigan, USA. The competition was attended by high schools from in China, USA, Canada, India and many more. Prempeh College, the 2016 Robofest Winners were presented with TOYOTA INNOVATION AWARD.
Over the past weekend the qualifiers competition for the Michigan Robotics Competition took place where Ghana Secondary Technical School popularly known as GSTS (GIANTS) took the second position behind Opoku Ware School who are also known as “AKATAKYIRE”.
Most specifically, Ghana Secondary Technical School is a Pioneering School for Robotics Education in Ghana as it Old Boys boast of Dr. Ashitey Ollenu, Head of NASA (He is a robotics Engineer at NASA and the founder and executive director for Ghana Robotics Academy)

- GSTS GIANTS ARE NATIONAL ROBOTICS CHAMPIONS 2017
On Saturday October, 7th 2017 Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) were emerged winners as the national robotics champions of Autonomous Rescue Challenge (ARC) held at Wesley Girls Secondary School, Central Region, Cape Coast. Wesley Girls High School, Tarkwa Senior High School, Archbishop Porters Girls Senior High School, Apam Senior High School, Saint Augustine’s College and the winner Ghana Secondary Technical School. GSTS are the schools which participated in the Autonomous Rescue Challenge (ARC). Also Bronze, Gold and Silver were won by the Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) Robotics team
The Ghana Robotics Academy Foundation is solely responsible for organizing The Autonomous Rescue Challenge (ARC) and it is mainly financed by the groups and organizations like the United States Embassy. With this Competition or Challenge schools or teams are to design and build a robotic project that will simulate a rescue operation. Moreover, at this competition the team that finishes a specific project with the shortest time emerges as the winner or champion of the competition.
- GSTS LOSES TO PREMEPEH COLLEGIONAL SCIENCE AND MATHS QUIZ, 2017
Am not to remember the sadness of this very day to you all GIANTS (OLD BOYS OF GHANA SECONDARY TECHNICAL SCHOOL) but this was the day that Prempeh College used Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) for Lunch. Western region was out of the National Science and Math’s after this very competition because their only great, treasurers surviving school GSTS was kicking out. Moreover, Prempeh College was the Winner of National Science and Math’s Quiz, 2017. This signifies that Ghana Secondary Technical School were really Champions. According to statistics Ghana Secondary Technical School happens to be the only School in western region to have won the National Science and Math’s Quiz and the won it in 2012. Also prempeh College was the first school to win National Science and Math’s Quiz in 1994 and repeated history in 1996, 2015 and 2017 but their success has been over trotted by Presec legon Boys Secondary School as they are five (5) times winners of National Science and Math’s Quiz.
- GHANA SECONDARY TECHNICAL SCHOOLS TEACHER EMERGED AS SECOND BEST TEACHER
Ghana Secondary Technical School Tutor Master Samuel Kofi Boateng won the 2016 second National Teachers Award and was reward with a pick for his maximum teaching efforts.
The first winner of the 2016 second National Teachers Awards is Madam Rita Oppong, a Pre- Vocational tutor at the Din Memory 2 junior High School found in the Adenta Municipality of Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
Master Suleiman Inusah is the third winner of the 2016 National Teachers Awards and was presented with a car. Master Suleiman Inusah Is a tutor at sacred hearts senior high school in the brong Ahafo region of Ghana. His excellency John Drammani Mahama was a guest for the programme.

- GHANA SECONDARY TECHNICAL SCHOOLS CELEBRATES 108TH ANNIVERSARY
Ghana Secondary Technical School celebrated or had it 108TH Speech and Prize Day in 2017. Under this glorious occasion welcomed all old Boys from various Part of the world to their Great Alma Mater, Donations from year Groups to the teaching staff were made. A navigation map was also given to the school to help visitors who happens to find themselves on the Great Oval of Giants.

LOST MASTER LAWRENCE BAIDO.
Getting to the very end of 2017 that Ghana Secondary Technical School lost Master Lawrence Baidoo, A final year Student. Master Lawrence Baidoo was shoot by a police man in the western part of Ghana specifically at Shama. Detective Corporal Adjei Shaibu is alleged to have shoot the 17-year-old Lawrence Baidoo.

On 18th January, 2018 GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU was honored by the Ministry of Education celebrate him for his nomination for the Global Teacher Prize to be held in Dubai in March 2018.
GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU is one of 50 people from 33 countries to have been shortlisted from 33,000 candidates. Congrats GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU.

GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU started his education carrier at the local Authority primary school in Dodo- Amanfrom in the Volta region of Ghana in 1950. GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU sat for the common entrance examination while he was in middle school form two and successfully passed to enter Secondary school at Ghana Secondary Technical School, GSTS-Takoradi for his O and A level Certificate Examination.
There after Ghana Secondary Technical School he proceed to the University of Cape Coast, UCC popularly known as CAPE VAS where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Education and later on went to do his Masters in Mathematics. After GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU working for a while he then went for his Ph.D. in CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTIONS with Specializations in Mathematics and Statistics at the UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA, Vancouver Canada .
GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU has been teaching mathematics for well over thirty good years. GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU has taught in senior high schools, Training colleagues and universities respectively. He belongs to several international organizations’ in Mathematics which includes NATIONAL COUNCIL OF TEACHERS OF MATHEMATICS, NORTH AMERICA, ASSOCIATION OF MATHEMATICS TEACHER EDUCATORS, SINGAPORE, MATHEMATICS ASSOCIATION OF GHANA AND INTERNATIONAL GROUP FOR PHYSOLOGY OF MATHEMATICS EDUCATION.
GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU is currently the founder and president of GHANA MATHEMATICS SOCIETY and Ghana’s representative on the SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE OF THE AFRICA CHAPTER OF INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION ON MATHEMATICAL INSTRUCTIONS AND EDUCATION. He is also the founder and the Executive Director of MEGASEME MATHEMATICS ACADEMY, where student talents are developed and fostered in mathematics education. GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU is also the founder and executive director of MATHNED, a non-governmental organization fostering the use of mathematics for national education and development.
GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU in a video said he journey in the mathematics academic platform has been reduced to Addition, Subtraction, Division and Multiplication.
Finally, GIANT PROFESSOR SITSOFE ENYONAM ANKU promotes the use of practical mathematics in the CLASSROOM and the relevancy of mathematics knowledge or skills to every life activities.
