The issue of conflict resolution, creating a friendly environment, and ensuring a peaceful coexistence can sometimes be met with great confusion and uncertainties especially at instances where parties at loggerheads will have to figure out who should first take the practical steps in the conflict resolution process. While most of the setbacks to conflict resolution can often emanate from ego, it’s worth realizing that some Christians can often get sucked up in a dilemma when our faith is being tested, when it feels that there’s every reason to trek the path that leads away from peace.

Taking on the exemplary life of Jesus Christ demands that we faithfully ensure peaceful living with people around us, even as Christ himself was blameless. There are several scriptures on peace which one can rely on for inspiration, insight and encouragement when overwhelmed at certain times and feel like giving in because of the obvious reasons. The following are ten powerful scriptures for reference:

  1. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.” Colossians 3:15
  2. “Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord” Hebrews 12:14
  3. “Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.” Psalm 34:14
  4. “If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.” Romans 12:18
  5. “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1-2
  6. “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3
  7. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness” Galatians 5:22
  8. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
  9. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” Matthew 5:9
  10. “Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” Psalm 34:12-14
