The National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) following the current situation in the country as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak has petitioned the government to consider increasing the NSS allowance paid to personnel.

He noted the increment of minimum wage by the government indicates NSS personnel allowance has to be increased to a reasonable amount to enable them to pay the high cost of accommodation and high costs of transportation.

Advising the personnel, Emmanuel Akosah encouraged them to demonstrate the skills and knowledge acquired while at post and wherever they find themselves after their one-year mandatory service to the nation.
