The Ghana Institute of Journalism has released the first batch of successful undergraduate applicants who applied to be admitted into the school for the 2020/2021 academic year.

The successful applicants are expected to confirm their acceptance of the offer by making payment of the provision academic user fee of GHC 2,520.00 by Sunday, September 13, 2020.

Management of the Institute says that fees may be adjusted by up to 10% subject to the approval of new Academic User fees by Parliament.

The provisional GHC 2,520.00 stated in the admission letter to new entrants is a 5% increase from what 2019/2020 regular entrants were billed.

It is unclear if the management of the Institute is considering to continue with its online learning programme in the 2020/2021 academic, but this year’s successful applicants have been informed that their “offer of admission is contingent upon your understanding and confirmation that you have the necessary computing and other requisite skills and also fully equipped to participate in online teaching and learning.”

“By accepting this offer, then, you are agreeing that you have the means (technology and skills) to access and utilise the institution’s Learning Management System and other online resources for participation and completion of your study programme,” the offer letter adds.

The online portal for students to register will be opened from Monday, 14th September to Friday, 16th October 2020.

UniversNews understands that the second batch of successful applicants will be released after the West Africa Senior School Certificate Exams (WASSCE) as some of the candidates sitting for the exam applied to be admitted into the school.
