Speaking to UniversNews, Mr. Kumah described his tenure so far as successful despite facing numerous challenges.
According to him, in his first hundred days of office, his administration has succeeded in fulfilling some key promises they made to students.
He noted that flagship programmes such as the one-student-one-laptop policy had begun with scores of students benefiting from it so far.

Mr. Kumah also noted that his administration had entered into a partnership with telecommunications network AirtelTigo to provide students with affordable data and call packages.
Among other things, he indicated that his administration had helped over a hundred students secure accommodation not far from the school campus.
He was however quick to add that although his administration was facing a number of challenges in their attempt to fulfill some of their promises, he would not relent in delivering on his promises.

Prior to his election as SRC President, Emmanuel Kumah had promised to secure a deal with a new internet service provider to enable students have reliable internet access before the commencement of the academic year.
However, 100 days in office, the promise is yet to be materialize.
Speaking on the issue, he admitted that it was “sometimes quite different the way you view things outside and coming into office. Some factors may prevent you from fulfilling some of the things you promise to too”.
He added that “…that is not to say that the promise of providing GIJ students with a reliable WiFi connection is not going to be fulfilled.”

“I’m mostly proud to say that management has concluded a deal with a network provider which I may not disclose now until they publicly do so within the shortest possible time, our students should expect that their going to have reliable internet connectivity on campus.” he disclosed.
