The former Member of Parliament for the people of Jomoro has today 11th June 2021 donated some hospital equipments to the Elubo Health Centre to support the midwifery department which for some time now lacked the basic equipment to augment the delivery process at the centre.
This support became essential when the Physician Assistant in charge of the Centre Mr. Alfred Ndarkah made a request last week to the Former Member of Parliament which categorically stated that, the midwifery department had only one bed for delivery mothers and owing to its malfunctioning, a mother who was in the process of delivery fell off hence, putting the health of many mothers and babies in a critical condition.
However, because of the prompt response by the former MP Hon. Paul Essien to ameliorate the problem at the Health Centre the Physician Assistant was excited and receiving the equipment on behalf of the Municipal Health Director, made an emphatic statement that, they are perplexed because, even though Hon. Paul Essien is not the current MP but the love and willingness he has exhibited in supporting the center is something that is unimaginable and needs recommendation because, hardly will you see any former MP who; will whole heartedly help his or her people in times of need when the one is not incumbent MP. So he believes that the situation in the midwifery department would be better off in the coming days.
Hon. Paul Essien addressing the Chief, Elders and staff of the Health Center said, today is the health system in Elubo and last Sunday, 6th June 2021 at Half Assini was about human capacity building where I donated 30 pieces of sewing machines to new apprentices who want to learn tailoring and dressmaking as their profession during the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association, and reiterated his commitment to making sure that the admission ward which is now at the roofing stage is completed and at least 45 beds is put at the male, female, and children wards for the people of Elubo and its environs for proper health care delivery. Because my main aim of becoming MP is to complete projects and not to compete with anyone for anything.
He said, when the issue of lack of beds for delivery was first reported to him, he could not have waited any longer because it was about lives that is at stake and losing a mother or baby means Ghana or Jomoro has lost a valuable assert hence, the need to find resources to provide the equipments on time.
On the part of the Chief and some opinion leaders at Elubo, they said, Hon. Paul Essien has truly demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that, he is a true son of Jomoro and a man for the people who has the needs of the people at heart therefore, prayed to God for continuous strength for him to do the good things.
The equipments presented today to the Health Centre include, one(1) delivery bed and two (2) other beds which the mothers will be laid on after delivery.
The contemporary or Modern day politics in Jomoro has be elevated to the highest top-notch all because of the charismatic, energetic and workaholic Hon. Paul Essien who’s continuing to assist communities, groups and institutions, something that is not seen here in Jomoro.
