Angers winger Farid El Melali was arrested on Monday night after he was allegedly caught masturbating in public.

The 22-year-old has since been charged with sexual exhibition, according to ESPN, who report that El Melali was seen ‘masturbating in the courtyard of his block of flats while looking at a woman who lives on the ground floor.’

Neighbours of the woman alerted police after the incident took place and local police then arrested the Ligue 1 player, as confirmed by both the police and Angers football club, who declined to comment further.

Angers winger Farid El-Melali was brought into police custody today after being arrested by police on Monday night for masturbating in the courtyard of his building whilst looking at a female neighbour on the ground floor, according to Le Parisien.

El Melali’s lawyer Sandra Chirac Kollarik has since defended her client, saying he ‘was not targeting anyone and was not aggressive towards anyone’ but the midfielder did admit an ‘inappropriate attitude’ when questioned by the police.
