A Sprinter bus with registration number GR 6117-20 is reported to have been involved in an accident on the Accra-Tema motorway.
According to an eyewitness, the accident occurred at about 6:30 am this morning after the tyre of the bus burst open around the weighing bridge area.
The vehicle somersaulted and fell into a nearby ditch.
According to the eyewitness, some of the passengers said the driver of the bus was overspeeding and failed to heed their warnings to slow down.

The Ghana Police Service and National Ambulance Service are currently on site.
Meanwhile the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service has disclosed that 263 people lost their lives in road crashes.
According to the latest statistics, the figure represents a marginal increase in the number of deaths each month, since the beginning of the year.
It brings to total 1,034 the number of fatalities on the road between January and April this year.
