A final year student of the University of Ghana Accra City Campus has reportedly died.
The student, Yvonne Owusu Nyantah, is said to have died in the early hours of Tuesday, September 17.
According to reports, the level 400 Religion and Economics student collapsed while attempting to board a shuttle bound to the main University of Ghana campus.
Yvonne Owusu Nyantah was a resident of the United Nations Hostel, popularly known as Bani.
Whilst the cause of her death is yet to be known, it is suspected that Yvonne was asmathic.
The University of Ghana chapter of the Religion Students Association of Ghana has already sent their condolences to the family of Yvonne
In a statement after news of Yvonne’s death broke, the Association said that it was ‘shocked and deeply saddened by the untimely death of Yvonne.’
They indicated that ‘her death was a big loss to the family and indicated that she would be missed.’
“We extend our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and loved ones, hoping they will eventually find healing and strength,” the statement added.
