Newly admitted students of the University of Ghana have begun arriving on campus.
They have from Monday, August 26 to Saturday, August 31, 2019.
Upon arrival on campus, the students are expected to complete their academic registrations ahead of the commencement of lectures.
Lectures for fresh students begin on Monday, September 2, 2019.
Reports reaching UniversNews from the various hall of residence indicate that the registration process was relatively smooth, although they were a few challenges.
To help students with the registration process, the University of Ghana Students Representative Council has stationed some personnel at Jean Nelson Aka Hall car park, Alexander Kwapong Hall Car park, Law School SRC Union Building and the Great Hall.
The intervention, dubbed ‘SRC Rescue Hub’ is a team whose mission is to assist students especially freshmen on all matters of students’ concern including but not limited to academic and welfare.
They mention that the initiative is in collaboration with the Office of the Member of Parliament of Ayawaso West Wuogon.
It is unclear the number of fresh students who are expected to report on campus, however, over 10,000 persons who applied to undertake its undergraduate programs on the Main, City and Korle-Bu campuses of the University as well as the distance education program for the 2019/2020 academic year.
Orientation for fresh students is Wednesday, August 28 – Friday, August 31, 2019, at the Great Hall of the University.
