Lectures begin for newly admitted University of Ghana students

Newly admitted students of the University of Ghana are set to have their first experience at a Legon lecture as teaching and learning activities is expected to begin for them today Monday.
This comes after Orientation ended last week
At least, 11,000 persons have secured admission to the University to undertake its various programmes for the 2019/2020 academic year.

University authorities say that they are yet to end the admission process.
Despite the challenges that has confronted the University with regards to finding accommodation for new entrants, these students are expected to find their ways into the lecture hall for academic activity for the first semester to commence.
Speaking to some of the fresh undergraduate students, they were unsure of what to expect at today’s lecture.

“I don’t really know how exactly the lecture is going to be like. I’m very nervous but at the same time I’m happy to be going for lectures. Regardless, I know everything will be fine,” a fresh student told UniversNews

According to the academic calendar for fresh students, there will be about 13 weeks of teaching after which the end of first semester exams will begin from Monday, December 9 – Friday, December 20, 2019.
The Matriculation ceremony to officially welcome these students is scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2019.
Distance Education Students will have their matriculation on Saturday, October 26, 2019
