This comes to give some hope to applicants who are yet to find their names in the admission list and assume that admission into the nation’s premier university has ended.
Weeks ago, the list of successful persons who applied to undertake the university’s undergraduate programs on the Main, City and Korle-Bu campuses of the University as well as the distance education program for the 2019/2020 academic year was released.
Whilst the number of applicants for this year’s admission is expected to be over 50,000, the number of those who accept admission to the university can only be known during the Vice-Chancellor’s speech at the Matriculation.

An infographic released by UniversNews, capturing the University of Ghana admissions from 2015-2018 suggested that the acceptance rate of the University stood at about average 57%.
Speaking to the Head of Service Engineering at UGCS, Mr. Patrick Kuti, he said that about 11,193 persons have so far been offered admission.
He added that admission was still ongoing.
Mr. Patrick Kuti gave these figures when he was addressing some allegations against his outfit regarding accommodation for fresh students.
“We’re talking about 11,193 students admitted, not registered whether paid or not paid whether registered or not registered. As at the time – and admission is still ongoing – we had 11,193 admitted students who qualified for residential accommodation, and the university and the private halls together had 1,907 beds, not rooms, to be shared by 11,193 admitted students.
