There are a lot of things one could do, knowingly or unknowingly, that could easily end in dismissal. Ignorance of such things would prove futile in the face of the school’s laws. 1. Poor academic performance:
There has been some change in this area. Before, any student who gets below the 40 percent cumulative weighted average threshold or fails more than four courses was to be dismissed or withdrawn from school.

Now, any student who falls in such a category for the first time is to repeat the programme in question, but such a chance will not be offered to a repeating student who fails again. 3. Examination malpractice:

Cheating in exams can also lead to one’s dismissal from KNUST. Such cheating involves getting information from the internet, a friend or any other material besides the question and answers slips during the exams proper.

4. Use of hard drugs in and around campus:
Using drugs like cocaine, marijuana, and weed in and around the university campus and its public facilities is subject to a dismissal or withdrawal from the university.

5. Possession and use of firearms and weapons:
Any student found with firearms and other dangerous and violent weapons or uses them in and around the campus and its public facilities is subject to immediate dismissal.

6. Sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages:
Any student found selling or consuming alcoholic beverages will be subject to dismissal or withdrawal from the university.
7. Physical abuse:
Subjecting another member of the university to physical abuse by engaging in fights and brawls is punished by dismissal or withdrawal.
8. Causing damage to university facilities indiscriminately:
Any student who tends to destroy school facilities and is caught is most likely to face a sack from the university.
9. Unauthorized possession, use, or duplication of keys to the school premises:
Any student who makes copies of keys to any part of the school premises without express authorization or permission is most likely to face dismissal or withdrawal by the university.
10. Use of the school WiFi to stream or download pornographic content
Many people do not know this but this is actually a punishable offence commit cybercrime by any student is subject to dismissal or withdrawal from the university.
11. Various acts of sexual misconduct:
Acts of prostitution, sexual harassment, indecent exposure, and soliciting for sex in and around campus are subject to dismissal or withdrawal from the university upon apprehension. The university has a strict policy against sexual harassment of any form.

12. Forgery of university documents:
The use of fake or counterfeit documents with the intent to deceive university officials by any student is subject to dismissal or withdrawal from the university.
13. Forgery of results:
Presenting fake results for admission or any other personal gain by any student is subject to dismissal or withdrawal from the university.
14. Acting as an agent of the university without any form of authority:
Presuming to act as an agent without any kind of express or implied authority from the university by any student is subject to dismissal or withdrawal from the university.
15. Gambling:
Conducting or getting involved in any gambling or betting activities within the university’s premises is most likely to lead to a dismissal or withdrawal from the university.
16. Engaging in blackmail or other threatening communication:
Any student found to be using information about others to force a favor or threaten them.

17. Absenting oneself from all activities:

This is related to the various courses of a programme of study deemed to have abandoned the programme. Any student who breaks more school rules despite being on disciplinary probation.
20. Failure to comply with local or national laws while within the university premises:
violating laws of the Republic of Ghana and other local laws is most likely to lead to the eventual dismissal or withdrawal from the University of the culprit(s).
