The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) on Monday, February 21, held an emergency meeting to evaluate their ongoing industrial action.
The meeting took place at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) at 4:00pm.
The outcome of the meeting as reported by multiple sources suggest that NEC has agreed to suspend the ongoing strike to make room for further deliberations with its members.
This came on the back as the association initiated processes to suspend its ongoing strike at today’s meeting.
However, members of the Association have five days within which to vote to reject or accept the decision of the NEC.
UTAG is yet to issue an official communique to that effect.
More to come……
