The Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Alan Kyerematen has on Friday July 9, 2021 made a donation to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Chaplaincy.
The University received 1,500 bags of cement from the minister in lieu of an abandoned Christian Worship Center by the Students Chaplaincy Council (SCC).
Present at the brief ceremony were the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor (Mrs) Rita Dickson, the University Relations Officer, Dr. Norris Bekoe, the protestant chaplain, Rev. (Dr) Joseph Williams Acheampong amongst other University authorities.
The trade minister comes across as an Economist, a Lawyer and Trade / Development Expert of international stature.
Background of SCC Christian Worship Centre
The dearth in congregational spaces for communal worship by the growing Christian student population propelled the Students Chaplaincy Council (S.C.C) to push for such edifice that meets its need.
Further cognisance of this development has been the underlying fact that over six decades of the University’s existence, a project of this scale and significance has not yet been realised.
This is a focal premise commissioned for Christian congregational worship and fellowship since 2014.
