Ridge City playmaker, Cecelia Nyama says that she is eyeing a call-up to the senior women’s national team.
The player, who is the club’s leading goal scorer, is having a fabulous season at the Women’s Division One League.
She is a regular starter for coach Louis Ano-Ampofo’s side and has registered fifteen goals in their five games this season.
Cecelia Nyama, speaking to UniversSports, after completing a hat-trick against Nimobi Ladies FC over the weekend, said that she was eager to represent the country.
She praised her teammates and coach for the development.
“I wish I could score more goals. I am not a striker but I see that I have the ability of scoring. I am praying and working hard to score more goals for my team. All these goals happen because we play as a team. The coach has been helpful. Coach Louis always motivates us to push hard and he never makes us feel down. I am really looking forward to playing for the Black Queens. I am working hard for that” she said.
Cecelia Nyama, who wears the number 8 jersey, said that she was also aiming at finishing the Women’s Division One League as the tournament’s leading goal scorer.
“I am currently the lead goal scorer and I want to finish the tournament in that regard. My family will be so proud of me because I’m realizing my dream. I am also working hard to get better,” Cecelia Nyama added.
Cecelia Nyama has helped the club win four out of their five games in the Women’s Division One League.
The club, with just a game at hand, is aiming at securing promotion out of the Division One League.
