Hearts of Oak captain Fatawu Mohammed is confident that the team’s 2020/21 season successes mean the Accra giants are ready to compete in the 2021/2022 CAF Champions League.
Hearts of Oak automatically qualified to the CAF Champions League after winning the Ghana Premier League for the first time since 2009.
The Phobians completed their sixth double in a season after beating Ash Gold 8-7 on penalties to win the MTN FA Cup final at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, 8 August.
‘”We are ready for Africa because Hearts of Oak is the champion of the GPL and FA Cup, so this should tell you that, we should be able to get ready for the CAF Inter-Club Competition.
We are just going for some break and bounce back for preparation towards the competition ahead.” Fatawu told Space FM.
Hearts of Oak have been drawn against Guinean side Club Industriel de Kamsar in the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League.
