Students at the Accra City Campus will go to the polls on Friday, July 30, 2021, to elect a new executive body for the 2021/2022 academic year.
The elections are expected to begin at 9:00 am and end at 5:00 pm on Friday.
A communique signed by the Electoral Commissioner, Clinton Boateng highlighted that the elections will take place online via a link that will be sent to the mail of every registered student.
“The elections, as enshrined in the constitutional instrument guiding the activities of the electoral process, will take place online by a special link that will be sent to the student mail of every registered regular student of the University of Ghana Accra City Campus,” the communique said.
The communique further stated that before the elections, a verification link will be sent to the mails of every registered student to confirm their details and their eligibility to participate in the elections.
“Prior to that, a verification link will be made available via your student mails to verify and confirm details ahead of the elections to take place on the 30th of July 2021. The Verification link will be active from the 28th of July 2021 at 8:00 am to the 29th of July 2021 at exactly 3:00 pm. After which verification ends and preparations made ahead of the elections”
Students who may find challenges during the electoral processes were advised to contact the Electoral Commissioner for further assistance.
