Some students of the University of Ghana have expressed joy over the appointment of Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo as Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Speaking to UniversNews the students stated that her appointment goes a long way to encourage young ladies to aspire to reach greater heights.
“We are very happy about Nana Aba Amfo’s appointment, this is very encouraging to us young ladies, making us know that the sky is not the limit.”
“Men do not always have to be the head in every organization, when women come into power too it shows that there is no bias in the system.”
“Women are taking over more and more leadership positions in this country and it is very admirable and motivating.”
Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo becomes the first female Acting Vice-chancellor of the University of Ghana.
Her appointment in this office will take effect from August 1st, 2021.
Prior to this appointment, she was the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University.
