He said that issues like misappropriation of funds and all manners of corruption which have been associated with the SRC for years must be changed and they are thus committed to that.

In an interview on Radio GIJ’s ‘Morning Dew’, Sir Joe, as he is popularly known, underscored the need for the operation of an administration by competent individuals who he say will be in various positions soon in his administration. “Appointments will be based on competence and commitment” he reiterated. He said his administration will not appoint various office holders on the “family and friends” criteria but will only have as many as are competent and committed to the course. Individuals who were his opponents in the elections but have the ability and competence to carry out various tasks needed in the students administration will even have the opportunity of occupying these positions.

Speaking in the same interview, the running mate of Mr.Agbezuke, Miss.Tracy Hagan indicated that on her path, she was ready to give the president all the support needed to carry out his work well and effectively. Tracy, who described her journey to becoming the running mate of Sir Joe as a miraculous one says she only hopes that in the end, her administration will be able to deliver as expected of them.

In his assessment of the current SRC administration, the 2019/2020 SRC president-elect, gave them a score of 5.5 marks out of a total of 10, adding that they had “fought a good fight”. In his own analysis, although some of the things promised by the Kumadinkra-led administration weren’t realized, the few that they accomplished, they fought well for.

He also spoke on the fact that one of the things that helped him gain this victory was a cordial relationship he had built and maintained with all and sundry. This, he says did not call for the need to do any “damage control” as part of their campaign. “I want to maintain a friendly relationship with all” he said. He added that it was this same people who had made him president and does not know where or when he might need someone’s help.
Joseph Agbezuke, in his concluding statements, re-assured students of the institute that his administration is “fired up! and ready to deliver” as it is going to be made up of “great individuals orchestrating our SRC.”
