Alumni of the North American chapter of the Ghana Secondary Technical school have awarded six students of their Alma Mater with scholarships that will enable them purchase university application forms for the 2019/2020 academic year.
The move by the association is aimed at supporting final year students who are brilliant but needy or good in sports as well as students excelling in other areas of their academics.
Eleven other students as part of this scheme have been awarded schorlaships that will help them pay and prepare for SAT examinations. This will see them further their education abroad after successful passes.
The scholarships were started in the year 2014 and has since been a major support to students who had problems paying their final year fees. However, due to the current Free Education Policy by the government, this year’s support went in the form of helping the students acquire two University application forms whiles the other Eleven form two students who aim at studying abroad have been registered for the SAT examinations.
Applications for this scheme is open to second and third year students of the school. Beneficiaries are also given books and other relevant materials which are aimed at helping them in their academic activities.
