Counsellor Daniel Fenyi has disclosed some courses and schools are non-recommendable in view of University graduates not getting job placement.
Raising concern on job placement after tertiary the counsellor stated “the Government of Ghana any day, any time owe Colleges of Education trained teachers direct job placement (almost as a policy), for now.”
Everyone, at the time of buying admission forms, knew 2 key facts
(a) NO direct job posting after University
(b) DIRECT posting after College. everybody was and is still awake of this! However, these graduates chose option (a) but are NOW expecting the results of option (b).
The Counsellor said he won’t personally, recommend to anyone, all things being equal, to pursue a course like
BA Political Science, Human Resource Management, Peace Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, History, etc.
“I won’t recommend such courses to anybody unless such a person would love to go into private practice,” the counsellor stated.
Adding to his analysis, the choice of school one attend also contributes much to job securing after graduation.
“Nothing on this earth would convince these today UCC and UEW graduates to ditch a UEW or UCC for a College, adding that College of Education students are/was seen and treated as if they are second class humans by most of these University graduates,” Daniel Fenyi.
He further cautioned that students should consult before making decision of what to read and the tertiary institution to choose.
