Worship’s Aid, a non-governmental organization with keen interest in waste management and recycling is organizing a conference on Friday, July 23 2021.

The conference is expected to address the need for proper management of plastic waste in Ghana to reduce its negative effects and maximize its benefits.

The conference will bring together industry experts, SMEs and other support stakeholders on the theme: “Covid-19 pandemic and the plastic waste menace: Sacrificing tomorrow’s earth for today’s health?.”

Two of the seasoned speakers who will be gracing the conference are Hon. Dr Adomako Kissi, MP, Anyaa Sowutuom and Hon. Teddy Addy, MP, Ayensuano as the special guest of honour amongst other highly-profiled personalities.

These esteemed personalities will share their experience and expertise to help aggressively deal with this menace. 

The conference will be held at Stanbic Bank Incubator, Accra between the hours of 9:00AM – 2:00PM.

Meanwhile, the organisation launched the JamesTown Waste Management project last year with the aim of educating residents on the proper waste management processes and disposal methods.

As part of the project, plastic waste will be collected and recycled.

Already, processes have begun with education, collection and segregation.

The last phase of the project will see the recycling of the segregated waste.

The organization envisages the enrollment of a National basic school tour plan on plastic waste management to engage the youth in achieving a waste free society.
