UENR Decides 2021: Electoral Commission Meets SRC/LNUGS Aspirants


On Thursday, 12th August, 2021, the Electoral Commission of the UENR SRC met with the SRC/LNUGS aspirants to discuss on two main issues concerning the upcoming election 2021- vetting and voting.

Chairperson of the EC, Mr. Eric Odametey announced to the house that the vetting is scheduled to happen on Saturday, 15th and Sunday, 16 August, 2021 at the D-floor Conference Room of the GETFund Hostel.

Some aspirants raised red flag about the venue citing reasons about its capacity contain the expected audience. Mr. Odametey explained that the choice of the conference room over the university auditorium was by a directive from the Dean of Students. Some aspirants, irrespective of the explanation given suggested thar lecture halls be considered.

As regards the voting, the EC chairperson assured all aspirants of a free and fair electon. He added that security personnel will be present before, during and after election to maintain peace and order throughout the process.

The EC opened the forum for questions and suggestions where issues of ballot papers without serial numbers, men voting on WOCOM, overvoting, undercast, and re-voting were raised.
