#UGDecides: Successful applicants for SRC vetting panel to be vetted today at 5:00pm

Successful applicants for the membership of the University of Ghana Students Representative Council Vetting Panel are expected to be vetted today Thursday, July 19, 2021.

A statement signed by the Acting General Secretary of the University of Ghana Students Representative Council, Ruby Nkansah mentioned that the vetting is scheduled to take place at 5:00 pm at the SRC Union Building on the University of Ghana Campus.

The statement further urged all the successful applicants to make themselves available on time.

Meanwhile, the Dean of Students at the University of Ghana, Prof. Godfred Bopkin has cleared all thirteen (13) aspirants to participate in the 2021 Students Representative Council elections.

A statement signed by the Chairperson of the SRC Electoral Commission, Henry Ackon on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, mentioned that the aspirants were verified by the Dean and qualify to contest in the elections having met the University’s academic requirement of CGPA 3.0.

“A letter received by the Electoral Commission from the office of the Dena of Students Affairs on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, stated that all thirteen (13) aspirants were verified and qualify to contest in the elections having met the University’s academic requirements,” the statement said.

The statement further announced the successful completion of the first phase of the electoral processes and assured students of a free and fair election in the coming days.

“The Electoral Commission remains committed to its service to the student body as it has ensured that the first phase of the procedures has been completed successfully, and also assures the university community of a free and fair electoral process with all COVID-19 protocols duly observed,” it added.
