The University of Cape Coast beats University of Education, Winneba, Takoradi Technical University (Formely Takoradi Polytechnic) and University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) to emerge winners of the Western Zone University Civic Challenge according to information available to hypercitigh.com
The Western Zone University Civic Challenge competition was held at the University of Cape Coast’s School of Medical Science Auditorium on 19th March 2019 in preparation towards the super zonal competition.
Deputy Chairman in charge of Finance and Administration, Ms. Kathy Addy addressed competing schools at the just ended University Civic Challenge.
This year’s challenge, which was launched in Accra, adopted the Commission’s theme for 2019: “Ghana, One People: Our Values, Our Sovereignty in Participatory Democracy.”
The University Civic Challenge is in its second year with the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) as the reigning champion.
But this year’s competition has been expanded to accommodate 20 tertiary schools who will compete for the top prize. The maiden edition last year had 16 tertiary schools as participants.
The competition started with Takoradi Technical University leading in the first round
but the host team made massive effort to emerge winners at the end of the competition.
