Christopher Dadson wins UCC SRC Presidential election

Mr Christopher Dadson, a lever 600 Doctor of Optometry student and Rashidatu Saafu a level 400 B.Com accounting students have both been elected President and Vice President respectively to manage affairs of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Students Representatives Council (SRC).  

After series of postponement the much awaited electoral process took off on Monday February 8 2021 with improved students’ participation.

The winning team with the teaser name, Topher polled 5,570 votes representing 47.10% of the total votes casts to secure the presidency.

Edward Gordon and Eugenia Afi Opare with teaser name Team Gordon placed second for the presidential race with a total vote cast of 3, 465 while Inusah Ayandeba and Matilda Yankey with teaser name Ayandeba came third with 2, 792 votes.

Other elected officials are Miss Esther Darrah, Secretary, Samuel Takyi, Treasurer, Divine Bedzra, Public Relations Officer and Freda Candy Mensah, SRC Coordinating Secretary.

The rest are Samuel Adu-Gyamfi, General Sports Secretary and Linda Appiah as Women’s Commissioner.

Mr Nana Kwesi Bediako Ampaw has also been elected as the President of the UCC local branch of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) with Amarachukwu Okezie Iheancha elected as the local NUGS Secretary.

Graduate Students

At the Graduate students’ level, Mr Eric Adjei and Christabel Sarfo Temah with Teaser name The Hope, were elected GRASAG President and Vice President respectively.

Mr Enock Yeboah has been elected as the Secretary for the associations and Mr Gideon Quansah elected as the organizer.

Mr Eric Yeboa is the newly elected Treasure for the association. The other elected officials are Doris Dziedzorm as the Women’s Commissioner and Muniru Abdul-Salam as the Financial Secretary.
