The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has amended the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) timetable for Principles of Cost Accounting 2 & 1.
A statement signed by the Officer-in-Charge of the Freetown office of WAEC, Mr F. Akuffo-Badoo on Friday July 24, 2020 indicated that “Principle of Cost Accounting 2 & 1 originally scheduled for Saturday 5th September will now be administered on Wednesday 26th August, 2020 from 13:30hrs to 16:30hrs”.
This follows calls and appeals from educational organizations such as the Africa Education Watch for a review of the 2020 WASSCE timetable.
The African Education Watch said that the arrangement where the two elective subjects i. e. Financial Accounting and Principles of Cost Accounting which were to be written on the same day with only an hour break was “not only strenuous but flies in the face of international standards of assessments at the secondary level”.
