In the spirit of understanding and collaboration, the Licensed Surveyors Association of Ghana (LISAG) and the Department of Geomatic Engineering of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has entered into a partnership with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The MoU is to formally establish a link to encourage consultancy, research, multidisciplinary industrial training and promotion of scholarship towards the training of human resource of both parties. The MoU shall remain in force for an initial period of five (5) years from the date of singing and may be renewed by mutual consent for an agreed period.

Prof. Mrs. Rita Dickson signed on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor for the University and Surv. Kwame Tenadu Snr., President of LISAG, signed for his outfit.
The Department and LISAG would undertake joint collaborative consultancy in the areas of land survey, engineering survey, mining survey, orthopo mapping, hydrographic and bathmetric survey, development, and computerisation of land recordings and management as well as research to promote mutual objectives and interests.
The Department of Geomatic Engineering will also give assistance identification and selection of potential graduate trainees and/or interns from the Department for LISAG members across the country among others. LISAG shall provide educational support to the Department among other obligations.
Professor Mrs. Dickson said as the leading science and technology University in the country, KNUST is not left behind in global trends and linkages and management recognises the necessity for local and industrial partnerships in training students for Ghana and beyond. She added that management welcomes the partnership between the professional body and the Department and pledged management’s support to ensure its growth and sustenance.
Surv. Kwame Tenadu thanked management on behalf of his outfit and stated that they would abide by terms of the agreement.
The ceremony was witnessed by some Faculty members from the Department as well as some executive members of LISAG.
