The Knust SRC in an explicit role in making lives better on and off campus was called to duty once again to welcome admitted freshmen for the 2019/2020 academic year. As required by the mandate of the office, the ABC lead administration and his executives took to the field to welcome freshmen in grand style.

Explaining the rationale behind the SRC Volunteer corps, Mr Wahid Fatawu told Hypercitigh.com that, as part of measures to lessen the burden freshmen go through navigating their way on and off-campus, it was only appropriate for University authorities  to allow such system in place for the SRC to play its role in ensuring the welfare of students.

The Volunteers which comprised of the SRC and the KNUST Cadet corps ensured that freshmen were properly transported to their various halls, hostels and the needed assistance rendered to ensure smooth stay on and off campus.

The 3-day exercise started on the day of reopening September, 6 and ended on Monday 9. Volunteering students were designated at DOS, Tech Junction, Parade grounds, off-campus respectively to cater for the needs and queries of freshmen.

The welfare chairman and his team took the opportunity to visit hostels off-campus to assure freshers of their safety and the commitment of the SRC to make academic and social life better.

The SRC transport commissioner, security commissioner, and KNUST cadet commanding officer and the welfare commission were the lead to effect the 3-day exercise.
