The Electoral Commissioner for the Student’s Representative Council (SRC) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Mr. Akwasi Nti Awuah is set to meet representatives from various campus media houses later today Wednesday, 6th March, 2019 at the KNUST Institute of Distance Learning conference room at 3pm prompt.
The meeting is to afford journalists the opportunity to ask Mr. Akwasi Nti Awuah key questions on the election modalities and to discuss issues pertaining to the up-coming general SRC elections in the school.
Essentially, the purpose of this meeting is to look at the role of the media in making sure the media engages in a free and fair reportage in the coming 2019 Student elections.
Also in attendance are Non-residential Electoral Commissioner, the electoral team at UITS and all stakeholders who would wish to be present for the event.
KNUST SRC EC Releases Time Table for 2019 Student Elections
The Electoral commission of the Students’ Representative Council has released provisional time table for the 2019 KNUST students’ elections on campus. The time table meant for electoral activities ahead of the elections is documented to be guideline of activities before, during and after the elections.
The time table indicates the commencement of KATH Common Room Elections on 7th March, 2019, Department/Faculties/College level election from the 18th of March to 22nd March 2018 followed by International Student Association election, Non Residential elections, Halls, GRASAG Election and finally, the Main SRC election will come off on 17th April, 2019.
The Commission has equally spelt out rules and regulations governing conduct of the elections.
