KNUST SRC considers withdrawing from NUGS

The National Union of Ghanaian Students (NUGS) have been in the news of late thanks to their division on political grounds which led the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to elect it’s own executives and and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) also doing the same.

The stand off in NUGS has caused more problems for the body as they expected and the University of Ghana has pulled out of the Union. The SRC of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) according to Mr Kelvin Sah is also considering pulling out.

At the just ended State of the SRC address, the Knust SRC president made it clear that parliament will set up a committee to investigate the NUGS brouhaha and make a decision. He stated that he and his administration will not tolerate any external political interference in student body affairs and if there is no head way, KNUST will have to join its sister university,UG in pulling out.
