Tertiary Business Sense Challenge is an annual event kick-started two years ago by the Graphic Business Group to test the wits and prowess of the major Schools of Business across private and public universities in the Ghanaian tertiary space.

This year’s edition saw the participation of 21 Business Schools across the length and breadth of Ghana. After a fortnight of intense competition at the Elimination stage held from June 7 to June 20, 2021 , KNUST beat Central University in 67-28 score to book its place at the finals whereas UCC “unleashed academic mayhem on its Winneba counterpart” to also secure its spot at the Final Contest that was held today, August 28, 2021.

The Grand Finale was held at TV3’s Studio B. With a limited crowd and a charged atmosphere, the competition started on a rather skewed front with UCC dominating the first three rounds with a 15-5 score in Round 1, 13-5 score in Round 2 and 7.13-5.93 in Round 3. In rounds 4 and the crowning round 5 however, KNUST gave UCC a run for its money with last minute commendable efforts from the team with the inclusion of the substitute for KNUST, Master Otoo Sebastian Annan. Round 4a ended in 16-16 split and a similar split occurred in Round 4b with both teams amassing an 8-8 score. In the final round of the contest, KNUST came out with 11 points to a nil point score by UCC Business School.

The Grand Finale of the Tertiary Business Sense Challenge 3.0 came to an end with the University of Cape Coast Business School being declared winners with a total score of 59.13 with KNUST School of Business following closing behind with a 50.13 total score. The team from KNUST School of Business was made up of Master Fusheini Ishmael, Master Agyare Benjamin, Master Nartey Osborn Nii and Master Otoo Sebastian Annan. The team received a GHC6200 cash prize for its effort for coming in second place whereas the winning team, UCC Business School also took home assorted gift packages from the sponsors of the event.
