The first semester for the 2020/2021 Academic is in full session with mid-semester examinations fast approaching for some universities. Due to the Corona virus pandemic, management of the university suspended shuttle services to curb the rate of spread.

With examinations fast approaching, it has become pertinent that some of these restrictions are removed in order for students to have the ease of mind and accessibility to campus. It is with this same mindset that Mr. Frank Owusu has on Monday, February 22, 2021 petitioned the Students’ Representatives Council (SRC).

In the petition released, Master Owusu also made suggestions on the ease of access to lecture areas as most students will be found wanting where examinations are due to commence and the only access to the Faculty areas is the use of the shuttles which are not in adequate measure.

Kotoku David Dzidzienyo, SRC Transport Commssioner, Kofigah Kingsley Asiome, Security Head and Hafiz Toyyib. Deputy Transport Commissioner recieved the petition on behalf of the SRC.

He also made mention of the reinstitution of the 24-hours mini-shuttle services to aid students who will be studying around the clock to have the peace of mind to learn. He also suggested that Escort services be reinstituted to curb instances of robberies and other untoward acts that surge in periods of examination. He finally appealed to the university authorities to increase security personnel presence in and around campus.

The University’s examination is set to come off from March 1, 2021 to March 5, 2021.
