KNUST accepts applications for appropriate candidates for top up programmes at the Nursing Department in the College of Health Sciences (COHS). These top up programmes come with their own requirements. These top up programmes are degree, diploma and sandwich programmes.

Knust Top Degree Programmes For Nurses
1. General Nursing
Must be a holder of Diploma in nursing with a good pass and have at least 3 years of working experience.
2. Midwifery
Must be a holder of Diploma in midwifery with a good pass and have at least 3 years of working experience.
3. Community Health Nursing
Must be a holder of Diploma in community health nursing with a good pass and have at least 3 years of working experience.
4. Emergency Nursing
Must be a holder of Diploma in nursing with a good pass and have at least 3 years of working experience.
KNUST Top-up Diploma Programmes (Sandwich) For Nurses
1. General Nursing
Must be a health Assistant Clinical (HAC) certificate holder registered with the nursing and midwifery council of Ghana with a valid pin.
2. Midwifery
-Must be a Post EN/CAN/HAC Midwifery certificate holder
-Must be a straight midwifery certificate holder registered nursing and midwifery council of Ghana with a valid pin.
3. Community Health Nursing
Must be a Community health nurse (CHN) certificate holder registered with the nursing and midwifery council of Ghana with a valid pin.
KNUST Access Course For Nurses General Application Process
The prospective applicant must either obtain a pass in the Institute of Distance Learning (IDL), KNUST Access Programme with a three-year minimum working experience period or meet the university’s minimum requirement of six credits which includes English Language, Integrated Science and Mathematics and three years of working experience.
APPLICATION
Application is done in a similar way as the other general programmes in KNUST;
- The e-voucher, which has the Login ID, application ID and PIN details, must be bought at Ghana Post limited .
- Use https://apps.knust.edu.gh/admissions/ to access the admission site and follow through with the application process using the details on the e-voucher.
- After the completion of the application process, two copies of the completed application forms must be printed out and submitted to the Deputy Registrar, Academic affairs, KNUST alongside other important or relevant documents such as certificates and transcripts.
