On Thursday, June 10, the College of Art and Built Environment Students’ Society (CABESA) received 3,550 seedlings ahead of its tree planting exercise on Saturday, June 19 2021.
The free seedlings were presented by former commissioner of the Forestry Commission and CEO of Bibiani Log and Lumber company Limited, Mr. George Wireko Brobbey.
The seedlings which were recieved by the College Provost, Proffessor Bugri and the College President, Mr. Kwame Takyi forms part of the national agenda to plant 5 million trees within the month of June.
Receiving the seedlings, College President, expressed gratitude to Mr. George Wireko Brobbey and appealed to all to get involved.
The College Provost also pledge his support to the exercise, and to ensure its sustainability.
The presentation was graced by the Dean of the Faculty of Built Environment, Dr. Stephen A. Takyi, College of Art and Built Environment Treasurer, Mr. Kwaku Bannor Kyei, Faculty of Built Environment Students’ Society Vice President, Mr. Ansbert Aduko and GASP Planning Head, Mr. Samuel Kwadwo Agyepong among others.
The College version of Green Ghana Project is dubbed; Restoring Greenery, Healthy and Aesthetic Natural Environment through Afforestation.”
