KNUST Bruhaha: NUGS Commends Otumfour For His Swift Intervention

The leadership of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) by this statement commends the Chancellor of KNUST and Paramount Chief of Asanteman, Otumfour Osei Tutu II for his swift intervention towards resolving the KNUST impasse.

It became worrying, as a matter to demand Justice for students took a sharp partisan turn with political actors seeking to make gains out of the situation.

NUGS is by this statement also calling on all stakeholders to be resolute in the protection of academic freedom and the discussion of academic issues beyond partisan lines.

Finally, we wish to send a word of caution to management that, the intervention of Otumfour does not indicate a support for management but the love of His Highness for progress and to end the impasse. Therefore, management must be willing to engage students in bringing the matter to a peaceful conclusion
