KNUST administrators donate cash to medical student battling bone cancer

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) has donated GHC 12,000 to Miss Rita Adjoa Abodoh, a fourth-year medical student of the University.

The donation is to provide financial support to enable Rita Adjoa Abodoh to undergo treatment for a malignant tumour in her right pelvic bone.

The treated is estimated to cost 150,000 Euros.

Making the donation, President of the Association, Anthony Adjapong, said that it was in response to an appeal made by the Medical and Dentistry Class of 2023.

He said that the donation also formed part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as an Association.

Receiving the cheque on Miss Abodoh’s behalf, the Dean of KNUST School of Medicine and Dentistry (KSMD), Prof. Daniel Ansong, expressed gratitude to the Association for the kind gesture.

Prof. Ansong further appealed to the general public to come to the aid of Miss Rita Adjoa Abodoh to receive the needed medical attention.

Meanwhile, the Medical Students at the University of Ghana have presented GHC 40,000 to the family of Rita Abodoh for the same purpose.

The money was presented in two tranches

The students say they are still raising money to support young Rita.

The University of Ghana students have targeted to raise GHC 100,000.

The University of Ghana Medical Students Association is appealing to the public to support young Rita with donations of any amount.
